Sunday Song Lyric:
Storm Large will not be the lead singer of the TV-fab supergroup "Supernova," but she seems to have struck a chord with her recent performance of her song "Ladylike." the song may even become Ann Bartow's new anthem. Whether the song qualifies as a new feminist fight song, it's a fun, rockin' tune. The TV-edit lyrics as performed on Rock Star are below, but the R-rated version is easy to figure out.
I'm sorry about your girl
Little center of the universe
Axis turns the world
And you need a jet to get to her
Oh, the way she moves, attracts all kinds of focus
From all over the room
She smokes, not ladylike. She's not ladylike

Mister, mister, big and tall
You take the world and spin it
You don't mess around at all, no
You're in it, to win it
Then you can get the gold
And you go make some more
So you can win the girl
Cuz baby that's who you've been working for

She's big and she's proud
And she knows what the world is about

Hey, what the what is ladylike
If ladies like to do what the what they like
Just like you, yeah. Just like you.
Look out man here comes another one

Well I'm so sorry about your wife
She's up and off and running
Going on with her own life
Word to your mother
She's stunning
And there's a part of you
That's just a little scared of her
Axis turns the world
And you need a jet to get to her

She's great and she knows
How to wear the pants
And the rest of your clothes

What the what is ladylike
If ladies like to do what the what they like
Just like you, yeah. Just like you.
Look out man here comes another one

On my knees or on all fours
From underneath
Hear me roar
A studio version of the song performed by Storm and her band, the Balls, can be heard here, and you can pre-order the CD single here.

These lyrics take the romance out of the equation. No wonder people are afraid to make the committment.

There has been much Storm Large love over the past few weeks on both my blog (link above) and NJ Star-Ledger critic Alan Sepinwall's.

Another fun performance? Abba Gadda Davida.

I sense a little anger, not that there's anything wrong with that.

There's a little paradox between her web site pics and the following

She's great and she knows
How to wear the pants
And the rest of your clothes

Only 4 paltry comments. Soon (hopefully) it will be none. And then, sometime soon, Sunday song lyrics perhaps will disappear altogther to Adler's Myspace acount. I welcome that day.

Tocqueville --

I re-started the Sunday song Lyric series because of requests from many VC readers, and I continue to get substantial net positive feedback about the series. If you don't like the Sunday Song Lyrics, then don't read them. There's enough content on the VC that not everyone has to read everything.

Meh. She isn't a particularly compelling performer/singer, in my opinion, and that song is pretty generic.

Good enough for prime time TV, I suppose.
