I posted a draft of my new forthcoming article earlier today, and it occurs to me that I should make a special request: I would particularly like to receive comments on the article from federal magistrate judges. The gist of the article is that magistrate judges don’t have the power to do something that a lot of magistrate judges think they have the power to do. Given that, I’d love to hear responses/reactions from judges, either off the record or on. I’ll probably try contacting some magistrate judges I know, but in the meantime I thought I might just flag it for readers who know, work with, or (in rare cases) are magistrate judges. Thanks.
